WEST DEPTFORD THANKSGIVING 2008
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Eligibility
The West
Deptford Thanksgiving Tournament is open to all USYSA teams in good standing
with their state association. No league select or state select teams are eligible.
Premier Division applicants should be playing within the top divisions of their
league.
Format
Divisions
of four, six, and eight teams will be made from all accepted teams in each age
group. Each team will play a minimum of three (3) games and a maximum of five
(5) games depending on division size. Play will begin on Friday morning and end
with all necessary championship games being played on Sunday. We will do our
best to make sure there is at least one Premier Division in each age group.
Applications
All
applications must be completely filled out and legible. All applications must
include a check payable to West Deptford Soccer for $435 (11 v. 11) or $385 (8
v. 8), a completed tournament application, and a completed tournament roster.
There is a late fee of $25 for applications postmarked after November 12th.
Notification
Acceptance
letters will be emailed to you by November 16, 2008. Registration notification
will be mailed out no later than Friday, November 16, 2008. Registration will be
held on Friday, November 21st. All other pertinent information will be
distributed at registration.
Players
All
players must have a valid, stamped USYSA or US Club Soccer player pass and be
listed on a current roster. Secondary passes will not be accepted. A player may
only play and be listed on one team’s tournament roster. A maximum of five (5)
guest players per team can be rostered. Teams with guest players may not have
tournament rosters exceeding 14 players for 8v8, and 18 players for 11v11.
Registration
Teams
within a 50 mile radius must attend registration in person on Friday, November
21, 2008 at the West Deptford Municipal Building. All teams must bring players
and coaches passes, a copy of their official team roster, notarized
medical release forms, and guest players form to registration on Friday,
November 21st. Teams traveling over 50 miles are not required to attend
registration, however you must lock in your team roster via fax on Friday,
November 21, 2008. All teams not attending the registration on November 21st
are required to register two (2) hours prior to their first game at West
Deptford Park for U11 and up, and at Union Field for U10 and below. All
rosters will be frozen on Friday, November 21, 2008. There will be no
exceptions!!!
Housing
West
Deptford Soccer will not arrange housing. Each team is responsible for making
their own arrangements. A list of area hotels is on our website.
Officials
All games
will be officiated by licensed referees currently registered with the USSF.
Three man systems will be used whenever possible. All final games will use the
three-man system. Player passes will be checked against tournament rosters
before each game.
Awards
Participation
awards will be given out to all U10 and under teams. There will be no
championship trophies given out, and no stats will be maintained in all U10 and
under games.
First
place division winners will receive a team trophy, individual trophies, one
sportsmanship t-shirt, and a Championship award. Second place finishers will
receive one sportsmanship t-shirt, along with individual trophies. All
trophies will be given out at the main tent at the location the Championship
game is played on Sunday.
Patches
All
teams are expected to trade patches or pins at the end of each game. Please be considerate in helping
us to maintain this soccer tradition.
